1. Protection through law: Workers in the unorganised sector should be brought under the protection of labour laws - employment should be regular, with a fixed number of working hours, payment for overtime, paid leave, holidays and leave due to sickness, and registration of workers with identity cards. 2. Social security: Workers should be provided social security benefits such as provident fund, gratuity, pension, medical benefits and insurance against accidents, so that they and their families are protected in case of injury, illness or old age. 3. Minimum wages: Minimum wages should be fixed and strictly implemented, and there should be no discrimination in wages between men and women doing the same work; wages should not be paid below the minimum wage. 4. Safe working conditions: Employers must provide protective equipment (helmets, gloves, masks), safe machinery, drinking water, first aid, toilets and creche facilities, and regular inspection of factories, construction sites and workshops should be carried out. 5. Support to self-employed workers: Small producers, artisans, weavers and street vendors should be supported with timely credit, raw materials, training and marketing facilities so that they are not exploited.
