📖 About
Oriental University, Indore, is a state private university in Madhya Pradesh established in 2011 under the Devi Shakuntala Thakral Charitable Foundation, and is described as the first private university in Indore. It is part of the Oriental Group, which has been active in education in Central India since 1995. The campus is located at Gate No. 1, Sanwer Road, Jakhya, opposite Revati Range, and spans about 77 acres with hostel facilities for boys and girls, residential accommodation for faculty, a bank and other on-campus amenities. The university acquired university status under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act with effect from May 2011 and is approved by AICTE, the Pharmacy Council of India, the Bar Council of India and NCTE. It offers programmes across engineering, management, science, law, media studies, pharmacy, agriculture, commerce and education at bachelor's, master's, diploma and doctoral levels, with some B.Tech specialisations run in collaboration with industry partners.
