All the red face cards are removed from a pack of 52 playing cards. The remaining cards are well shuffled and then a card is drawn at random. Find the probability of getting a: (i) red card (ii) a king or queen.

Red face cards removed = 6 (King, Queen, Jack of Hearts and Diamonds). Remaining cards = $52-6=46$.
(i) Red cards remaining $=26-6=20$. $$P(\text{red card})=\frac{20}{46}=\frac{10}{23}$$
(ii) Originally 4 Kings + 4 Queens = 8; 2 red Kings + 2 red Queens removed, leaving 2 Kings + 2 Queens = 4. $$P(\text{king or queen})=\frac{4}{46}=\frac{2}{23}$$
