New technology has connected the world in the following ways :
1. Rapid improvement in transportation technology - Containerisation and the use of larger cargo ships and aircraft have made much faster delivery of goods across long distances possible at lower costs.
2. Telecommunication facilities - Telephone, mobile phone and fax are used to contact one another around the world, to access information instantly and to communicate from remote areas. This has been made possible by satellite communication devices.
3. Internet and e-mail - The internet allows us to obtain and share information on almost anything, to send instant electronic mail and to talk across the world at negligible cost.
4. New services across borders - Because of IT, services such as data entry, accounting, administrative tasks, engineering design and call centres are provided from India to companies abroad at a fraction of the cost.
5. Integration of markets - Producers in one country can now design a product in one place, manufacture it in another and sell it worldwide.
