Government Maharani Laxmi Bai Girls PG College, previously known as Government New Girls PG College, is a premier women's college of Madhya Pradesh established in 1963 and situated at Kila Bhavan in Indore. The campus covers about 13 acres with a built-up area of more than 50,000 square feet, and the college is affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and accredited by NAAC. It serves close to 4,000 women students across 11 academic departments with 20 classrooms and 14 laboratories, and the library holds about 44,304 books and 700 journals supported by 57 computers. The college runs roughly 35 courses across nine degrees spanning Arts, Commerce, Science and Management. Undergraduate departments include Library and Information Science, Computer Application, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Office Management, Tax Procedure and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, while postgraduate offerings extend to Dance, Instrumental Music and Drawing and Painting. Five departments run full-time PhD research centres. Scholarships available include SC/ST/OBC schemes, Pratibha Kiran Yojana, Gaon Ki Beti and schemes for students with disabilities.
